Removal of plaque, tarter, and stain from the teeth surfaces, often scheduled with a check up and x-rays.
Restoration of tooth structure that removes decay (cavity) and fills the resultant space with either a "silver" amalgam filling or a tooth colored resin filling material.
Removal of a primary (baby) or permanent tooth. There are several reasons for removing a tooth, some of which are listed below:
- Preparing for orthodontics (braces)
- Impacted tooth (wisdom tooth)
- Abscessed tooth
- Deep decay
- Advanced gum disease
Also known as a "cap," a crown fits over the entire tooth and is used to protect and strengthen the tooth; recommended when a filling can no longer correct the problem.
Permanent replacement of one or more missing teeth; consists of crowns over existing teeth next to space and a "pontic" tooth that bridges the gap.
Ideal method for replacing missing teeth, implants prevent deterioration of the jaw bone and additional tooth loss. They can replace one tooth or secure dentures, partials, or bridgework. Implants have a 95%-98% success rate and can last a lifetime with regular dental appointments and conscientious oral hygiene.

Gum Disease Therapy
Treatment of advanced gingivitis and periodontal disease. Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gum tissue, and periodontal disease is an infection that involves the bone.
Tooth colored filing material used to correct chipping, pitting, and staining, or to close gaps between the teeth. Filling material is matched to the existing natural tooth structure to provide a natural appearance.
Custom, porcelain facings that are bonded to the front surfaces of teeth to whiten teeth, close spaces, straighten teeth, or repair worn teeth.
Proper term for "bleaching" teeth. At WFD, we recommend a dentist-supervised take home teeth whitening procedure. Following an exam, dental impressions are taken to fabricate custom bleaching trays, and professional strength whitening gels are used to fill the trays each day or night for several weeks. The result is a brighter, more vibrant, younger looking smile.
Our new digital x-rays provide a clearer, more precise image of our patients' teeth through a less cumbersome, more comfortable procedure. We are able to significantly reduce radiation exposure to our patients as well as keep our fees affordable. Our monitors allow us to zoom in on potential problem areas, adjust lighting, and use a contrast icon to better view the teeth and bone.
Large x-ray that displays the entire mouth and supporting structures. With the panorex, we have the ability to take a clearer image that includes the upper and lower jaw bones, making diagnoses much easier and more accurate.
Miniature camera that captures and displays close-up images of the teeth and gum surfaces. The view makes it easier for patients to see what is happening in their mouth and easier for the for dentist to diagnose miniature fractures and decay that cannot otherwise be seen with the naked eye.
